Yesterday I made a mom cry at her child's piano lesson.
No, I wasn't mean to her kid. No, I wasn't mean to the mom.
I was playing "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" on the piano. Her daughter and I were singing along.
At the end of the song, the mom was in tears. The daughter was surprised.
No, we weren't terrible at singing. No, I wasn't bad at playing the song. It was the opposite.
The music brought back special memories for the mom. She actually shared that one of the memories was being with her mom and she could even remember how her mom smelled and even being in the same room together. It was an emotional moment.
Perhaps a certain song will do that for you. Perhaps there is some music that makes you think of your childhood. Perhaps there is some music that will remind your children of their childhood with you.
You have the opportunity to create those memories now with your child. You have the opportunity to make a connection with your child, give them something that will reach them at a deeper level - and maybe they'll be the one who tears up when they hear a song and it reminds them of you. Give them the opportunity to have that experience. It is beautiful. It is everlasting.
It is why I love what I do - music and the experience of making music reaches people at a truly human level and connects people to one another. It's not just listening to music, but making music. You have much more connection when you sing together or play music with one another.
We can help you create musical connections. Through these musical connections you can become closer to the people you love.
